Abstract

It was established by X-ray analysis that the main crystalline phases in the system gypsum—lime are calcium sulphate dihydrate, Portlandite and Calcite. When metakaolin was added into the binder, Ettringite presence on the X-ray diffraction pattern was recorded. The purpose of the research is selection of optimal technological parameters of quicklime for binder in the system gypsum—lime—metakaolin based on comparative analysis of the physical-mechanical and working characteristics of composite stone. It was established that the composite binder with fast quenching lime has bigger strength of 20—40 % (regardless of curing conditions), higher water resistance coefficient and undergoes less deformation changes that the binder with medium quenching lime.
